A Destination Wedding at Riviera Maya Haciendas del Mar in Riviera Maya, Mexico

Adriana Reyna (37 and a physician assistant) and John Gray (33 and a bartender) took a leap of faith and got married at Puerto Aventuras, Mexico, an oceanfront venue with a courtyard and garden that the couple trusted from afar to make their wedding day perfect. “We went into the wedding weekend having never seen the Villa, never tasted the food, never heard the music. It took a lot of planning, and we put a ton of faith into our wedding planner Sabry, and she delivered,” says the couple. They hosted their ceremony in the courtyard, followed by a big, family-style dinner in the courtyard. Driftwood covered in peach and white flowers with moss and succulents covered the distressed wooden tables for a rustic yet refined atmosphere, inspired by a romantic beachfront cocktail party from the early 20th century. “This was as close to our vision as we could have imagined. Good food, good drinks, good music and good company.” The epitome of the evening? The couple had a whole roasted suckling pig to kick off their reception. “We treated it like a cake cutting. Slicing a piece and feeding it to each other set the tone for the rest of the night,” the couple says. The wedding festivities extended beyond just their wedding day, since the couple took the opportunity to mingle with their guests throughout the vacation of several days. Their best advice to pull it all off to perfection? “Trust your vision, trust your vendors, and most importantly trust each other.” See the gorgeous details captured by Maik Dobiey Wedding Photography, below.
