A DIY Barn Wedding at the Kelley Agricultural Historical Museum in Kokomo, Indiana

Rustic touches and simple details shined at the wedding of Andrew Barr, 32, a project manager, and his bride Rachel Barr, 29, a personal trainer. The couple met through mutual friends and became engaged under the Eiffel Tower in Paris only 7 months into their relationship. Following a three-year engagement, they tied the knot in front 230 family members and friends at the Kelley Agricultural Historical Museum near Kokomo, Indiana. The choice of venue was a no-brainer for the couple after they discovered the property. “All the essentials were there, including the cutest ‘outhouse’ cabin, ‘blacksmith shop’ bar and of course round, red Spurgeon barn,” Rachel says. “It was breathtaking with all the cornfields around it and we couldn't imagine our day without that backdrop.” The bride and groom took a very DIY-approach to the decorations, with the bride hand-making everything with the help of friends and family. After marrying in a beautiful outdoor ceremony, guests were treated to a delicious buffet of pulled pork, grilled chicken, garden salad, coleslaw and potatoes au gratin at an indoor/outdoor reception. The venue provided picturesque views as the sun set over the fields and brought a sense of rustic simplicity to the celebration.
