A DIY Outdoor Wedding at a Private Residence in Florida

Zach Beatty, 22, a firefighter, and Bri Becker, 23, a registered nurse, tied the knot in an intimate outdoor wedding at a private residence in Florida. The couple met through a mutual friend in high school, but lost touch for a couple of years. After bumping into each other again, they began dating and became engaged eighteen months later. "He had a candlelit dinner prepared with red roses everywhere where he brought out the ring at dessert and got down on one knee," Bri says. The bride and groom decided to hold the wedding in a friend's backyard. The ceremony took place against beautiful natural landscape and the reception was held outdoors as well. "It was a personal space for both Zach and I as it had been a place where I had had events growing up," the bride says. Both Zach and Bri desired a low-key and laid-back wedding. They incorporated their love of antiques into the decor, which included both personal aspects as well as garage sale pieces they had accumulated over time. The couple's 75 guests were treated to self-serve food and drinks after the ceremony. The groom put together a playlist of songs that had special meaning to the couple that played in the background. "The day was very personal and no fuss, which was exactly what we wanted," the bride says. "It couldn't have been a more perfect day thanks to our friends and family."
