A DIY Vintage Wedding at Lewis Ginter Botanical Gardens in Henrico, Virginia

Andrea Kelleher (32) and Chris Campanella (34, sommelier) met online. While they were dating, Andrea was amazed by how easy their relationship was going. "I remember asking Chris, 'Is this normal?'" she quips. Chris proposed to Andrea during a a trip to the Outer Banks in North Carolina, where the couple visits often. "It was just us and it was perfect," says Andrea. They decided to get married outdoors at the Lewis Ginter Botanical Gardens in Henrico, Virginia. The gardens boast lush greenery which created a beautiful backdrop for Chris and Andrea's ceremony as well as a tented pavilion for the reception. Chris and Andrea had a dedicated lounge space at their wedding with antique furniture from Andrea's grandmother as well as various vintage features that Andrea found at local consignment shops. The flower arrangements included bright orange lilies and roses, blue orchids and furry green dianthus flowers. DIY signs at the wedding included a chalkboard welcome sign, the wedding program written on a glass window pane and escort cards displayed on vintage shutters with the garden themed banner "Please Be Seeded." The couple made cornholes for guests to play during cocktail hour and gave them burlap sachets of herb seeds as favors. At the reception, there was a dessert table with a variety of pies labeled with images of the bride and groom. At her wedding, Andrea wore an A-line lace wedding dress with a cathedral veil and carried a unique bouquet made up of her favorite magazines. Her bridesmaids wore one shoulder navy blue dresses. The groomsmen and Chris wore khaki suits for the summer wedding with blue bow ties and orange rose boutonnieres. Chris and Andrea's garden party had unique and beautiful vintage decor and DIY details.
