With bold shades of pink, orange, yellow and green, this wedding was a flower-filled garden fete with a sophisticated twist. A mix of friends and family from their homes in England and Nigeria joined Nicki Allen (32 and a director of project management) and Brian Nwokedi (30 and a director of financial analysis) a year after they were legally married in City Hall to celebrate their first year of marriage, and we can't believe how gorgeous it was. Knowing they would need help bringing their vision to life, Nicki and Brian enlisted the help of Elizabeth at Hall and Webb Event Design. “If you get married in Charlotte and don’t work with Elizabeth at Hall and Webb Event Design you are making a huge mistake,” Nicki says. “She was everything we could have asked for and more. She is very organized, has great artistic vision, loves good food and is so intuitive to her client’s needs. We are lucky to now call her a friend.” The overgrown garden theme was perfect at Daniel Stowe Botanical Gardens in Belmont, North Carolina, since the White Garden reminded Nicki of her grandmother's walled English rose garden. The naturally stunning space needed very little decoration, and Todd Crawford from the Blossom Shop nailed everything, from the towering aisle decor to the textured bouquets and the lush garland centerpieces. There's so much to love about Nicki and Brian's day—see all our favorite details, beautifully captured by the Schultzes, below.

“We had an incredibly talented florist, Todd Crawford at the Blossom Shop, who we trusted, and we let him be the expert,” Nicki says. “The result was incredible.” She carried freesias, roses, hypericum berries, dusty miller and plenty of greenery in her lush bouquet.
Todd Crawford at the Blossom Shop created all the gorgeous floral arrangements for the wedding using pink peonies, pink roses, coral roses, silver brunia balls and mint dusty miller. The bridesmaid bouquets were smaller versions of Nicki’s arrangement, and Nicki and Brian loved how they all looked together.

“My bridesmaids are all fierce women, and I wanted them to choose dresses that spoke to their personalities,” Nicki says. The bride told each of them to chose a blush or lavender dress that was knee length; the maid of honor wore a floor-length gown to stand out. Nicki loved how well all the dresses came together!
Nicki and Brian had a lot of friends and family traveling to North Carolina—from as far as England and Nigeria—for the wedding. Daniel Stowe Botanical Gardens in Belmont, North Carolina, was the perfect place for locals and out-of-towners, alike with its stunning grounds. “I’m a huge nature lover,” Nicki says. “The White Garden reminded me of my grandmother’s walled English rose garden. And it’s a great spot in any weather.”

Nicki and Brian wanted the groomsmen to wear blue suits, but didn’t necessarily want them to perfectly match one another. To bring their look together, the couple gave each of them matching ties and fun socks. Brian stood out with a brighter blue getup and an ivory tie to match Nicki’s Junko Yoshioka A-line dress.

Deb at Olive Paper created all the stationery for the stunning garden wedding. Nicki and Brian wanted the paper to set a relaxed tone and incorporate the beauty of the gardens, and Deb totally nailed it.
Nicki knew she wanted a dress that was fitted on top but was easy to move in, without a big train on the bottom so she could dance. She found the perfect gown by Junko Yoshioka. She loved that the flowing skirt was made of silk, and it felt like wearing pajamas!
