A Formal Beach Wedding at Hideaway Beach Club in Marco Island, Florida

Berlinda "Lindy" Tolsma (24 and a registered dietitian) and Keith Abed (26 and works in real estate) met at a bar in East Lansing while they were students at Michigan State University. Keith asked Lindy if he could buy her a beer, but when he opened his wallet, it was empty. Luckily for him, she replied with “Don’t worry, I've got this one,” and the rest is history. For their wedding day the couple decided on Marco Island, Florida. Keith’s family has been vacationing there since he was young, and he always dreamed of getting married there. They were sold on Hideaway Beach Club after seeing the beauty and serenity of the venue and the beach on which the ceremony would take place. The sunsets are unbeatable! With their venue secured, Lindy and Keith started outfitting their modern yet formal beach wedding with a seaworthy color scheme. Turquoise, which also happens to be Lindy's favorite color, seemed like an easy choice. Another one of her favorites—dendrobium orchids—also appeared throughout the decor. "The element of the beach greatly reflects us as a couple," Lindy says. "We have lived in numerous states during our relationship and are always drawn to the beach, whether it was in California, North Carolina or Hawaii." —Meghan Overdeep
