A Formal, Classic Wedding at Legion of Honor in San Francisco, California
The historically rich Legion of Honor museum in San Francisco, California, set the classic tone for this formal wedding. "We wanted personal touches throughout the ceremony and reception for our formal wedding that was classic and chic, just like the San Francisco landmark," Robin Johnson (27 and in influencing marketing) says of her marriage to Matt Johnson (32 and in business operations). "We were inspired by the French architecture and wanted to keep our decor minimal to not overshadow the beauty of the museum." Robin and Matt's love for the Legion of Honor showed through their wedding invitations, with the museum painted in watercolors at the top of the stationery. White, green and gold accents picked by Robin and Matt blended well with the indoor-outdoor venue space, accenting everything from the floor-length bridesmaid dresses to the low flower centerpieces on dining tables. Black-and-white escort cards with green ribbon wrapped around the necks of champagne bottles, which guests took home as wedding favors. Don't get us started on the delicious four-tier white wedding cake accented with gold that not only looked great, but was sure to taste amazing with lemon mousse and custard filled between layers of almond and lemon cake.
