Twinkling market lights, elegant lounge furniture and a romantic palette created an enchanted forest feel at this formal backyard wedding, surrounded by the natural environment in Sebastopol, California. "I wanted guests to feel like they stumbled upon a grand scene in the midst of a wild forest, and I liked the idea of making it a more formal event," Liz Beeler (35 and a magazine producer/stylist) says of her wedding to Shiloh Strong (36 and a screenwriter/motion film director). Elegant white invitations gave away the not-so-typical woodland theme, done with calligraphy and floral watercolor designs that were repeated throughout the day—from the simple escort cards held up by wooden holders to the labels that wrapped around homemade bottled wine. Shiloh's family cleared redwood trees in their backyard to make room for the reception, where they set up lights in the shape of a tent that created an enchanted feel (among many other DIY details). Liz arranged fern and succulent centerpieces positioned on top of hand-cut wooden slabs, surrounded by votive candles that created a romantic glow. Our favorite detail? Liz's beautiful BHLDN blush wedding dress, which had a strapless sweetheart neckline and a skirt with several layers flowing to the bottom. "I loved this gown from the minute I saw it because it has a bohemian feel," Liz says. "I certainly didn't want to be overly formal just to traipse around in the forest."

Liz's friend designed all the paper goods for the wedding, which embodied an elegant look through its flowing calligraphy and floral watercolor designs.
Liz ordered her gown from Anthropologie's wedding brand, BHLDN. It had a bohemian style that she absolutely fell in love with. The dress went perfectly with enchanted-forest feel in Sebastopol, California.
Liz made all the arrangements, including her own bridal bouquet, which was filled with pastel-colored roses and hypericum berries.
The bridesmaids picked out their own neutral-colored formal dresses based on Liz's gown. The flower girl wore a classic white dress and carried a basket made by Liz's mother.

"Shiloh and his father built the ceremony space and benches from redwood trees on the property," Liz says. "We didn't decorate it much because it was beautiful as it was. We just added a grapevine wreath that I bound with fresh eucalyptus, and Shiloh suspended it from the tree with 100 feet of rope."

The labels on wine bottles followed the floral watercolor and calligraphy design that continued throughout the day. "Our friends came up early, and we all bottled and labeled the wine for the wedding," Liz says. "We do the crush and the bottling of the wine every year, so it was good to have my family and friends from the South be part of the process."
A tent-shaped market light display draped over dining tables, designed by Liz and set up by Shiloh. The tent served as the prime lighting source for the wedding day, starting at the top of a pole that had a handmade piece that had been crafted by Shiloh's late grandfather.
Hydrangea and Greens Natural Chair Decoration
Liz purchased plants and arranged them underneath large cloches, perched on top of redwood slabs cut by Shiloh. Votive candles surrounded the natural DIY centerpieces, creating a touch of enchantment to the rustic display.
Bohemian Peach-Colored Flower Crown
The groomsmen wore brown slacks and navy vests with white collared shirts, which greatly differed from Shiloh's light gray suit. But they all matched with light pink ties.
'S'mores' Gray and White Sign
Shiloh's mom created a homemade three-tier white cake, covered in hydrangeas and peach-colored roses with scattered leaves at the bottom. Shiloh cut the redwood slab for the cake stand and carved his and Liz's initials onto the front.
