A Fun, Artsy Wedding at Dirt Salon in Hartford, Connecticut
Nothing says trendy and fun more than a cocktail party wedding at an art gallery. That's exactly what Charmagne Tripp (41 and a musician and executive assistant) and Tianna Glass (30 and a writer and administrative manager) were looking for when they happened upon Dirt Salon, an art gallery with exposed brick walls and high ceilings in the heart of Hartford, Connecticut. "It had just the right amount of industrial charm and funky, artistic features," Tianna says. With the help of wedding planner Kim Renton, Charmagne and Tianna were able to make the space their own by dividing it into three sections: a ceremony space, a dance floor and a buffet room. Since cocktail hour is their favorite part of a wedding, they decided to make their whole wedding a cocktail party. They served finger foods provided by Catering by Linda and desserts provided by Elizabests. Instead of a wedding cake, Charmagne and Tianna artfully arranged cupcakes on a tiered stand around a bust, creating a eye-catching display. All of their vendors were close friends or friends of friends. "We care deeply about the artists in Hartford and the great things that they bring to our lives," Tianna says. "It's a community that we are a part of as fellow artists, and we wanted to give our friends a chance to show off their skills."
