A Beach-Inspired Wedding at the Stateroom in Long Beach, New Jersey

Since Long Beach, New Jersey, is their favorite spot, it was no surprise that Kristie Banks (26 and a special education teacher) and Kyle Raventos (26 and in finance) chose the Stateroom there for their wedding location. “We adore the small-town vibe and laid-back beach lifestyle, so it made sense to celebrate the happiest day of our lives with everyone we love in the place we love the most,” Kristie says. The beach even inspired their theme. Guests took their seats at an outdoor ceremony in the sand with a gorgeous view of the water. Once inside and sand-free, starfish on an illuminated platform directed them to their tables. Some centerpieces even had a few seaworthy lanterns. But no beach day is complete without a sandcastle, so their wedding cake from Carlo’s Bakery was inspired by just that. It even had turrets and sugar seashells.
