A Fun Fuchsia and Orange Wedding at Brookside Gardens in Berthoud, Colorado

Nikki Steen (29 and works in garden center sales) and James Ball (28 and a mechanic) met online. James proposed at lunch with a K. Johnson Jewelry sapphire and diamond ring. They chose Brookside Gardens for their ceremony for its luscious gardens and practical ballroom. They used Nikki’s favorite color, fuchsia, for the main color and paired it with orange to represent the Denver Broncos. Not wanting their wedding to feel too formal or stuffy, they added some fun details such as the lovingly dubbed "ring security" ring bearers who wore black sunglass, carried gun cases and walked down the aisle to “Men in Black” by Will Smith. The flower girls took on a more feminine feel with white tulle dresses and pink bows in their hair. For their ceremony tradition, Nikki and James released Monarch butterflies in memory of their lost loved ones. After the ceremony, Nikki and James slipped on Aviator sunglasses and took their first steps to the Top Gun theme song (their favorite movie!). For the reception, they handmade the pink and orange wood place cards for guests. Nature's Design created all of the tall, lush floral arrangements in the wedding colors, as well. At the end of the night, the couple enjoyed two one-tier wedding cakes from Pixie Sweets and sent guests home with pink and orange candy favors.
