A Fun, Intimate Wedding at Sunset Beach House in Treasure Island, Florida
This intimate wedding was filled with bright colors and bold DIY accents we love. Focusing on the idea of a “lover's getaway” for their guests, Christina Arriaga (31 and in marketing) and Joshua Gay (29 and an arborist) kept the day stress free and personal. “I watched Ellen and Portia's wedding and knew everything would be perfect if left simple,” Christina says. They started the day with a few drinks on the beach, music from a DJ and a sandy ceremony. Christina’s best friend served as their officiant, while Christina and Josh shared sweet, personal vows they crafted that morning. Once they shared their first kiss under a natural bamboo wedding arch, the celebration continued with a few more tunes from DJ Sammy Perez and a dance battle at Sunset Beach House in Treasure Island, Florida. When they returned to the deck for dinner, each table was met with a DIY display of white and fuchsia roses in silver vases, greenery and bright starfish-accented glass bottles. Matching colorful mason jars were hung overhead as Christina and Josh’s guests took a break from dancing to sample a two-tier wedding cake from a local Publix. Each tier was surrounded with white and red roses. Our favorite part? The beach-inspired place cards! “To personally thank every guest, we wrote thank-you letters and rolled them up in a plastic bottle to create message-in-a-bottle escort cards,” Christina says. “We both felt so honored that each person traveled the distance to be a part of our special day.” Ailyn La Torre Photography captured every fun detail, below.
