A Fun New Year’s Eve Wedding at The Addison in Boca Raton, Florida

Irina Kachalenko (33 and a health coach) and Richard Satz (38 and president of Kinon Inc.) brought in the New Year with a colorful and metallic wedding that was sure to make their night memorable. “Our wedding was on New Year's Eve, so you know we needed to bling it up at least a little,” Irina says. Poirier Wedding Photography was there to capture every moment, from the outdoor ceremony basked in purple uplighting to the fun indoor reception at The Addison. The team at Dalsimer Atlas helped Irina and Richard fill their wedding with matching purple and white accents. A cascading bouquet of white calla lilies and purple orchids was designed for Irina. It complemented the couple’s purple aisle decor as well as the purple flowers on their white wedding arch and their centerpieces. Each gold-accented table at the reception was met with a tall floating pink orchid centerpiece topped with white hydrangeas and more pink orchids. Another detail that stood out was the couple’s metallic wedding cake. Baked by Creative Cake Factory, the couple’s four-tier confection took New Year’s Eve’s traditional gold and silver color palette to new heights. Each layer of red velvet or almond white cake was covered in either diamond white fondant, silver fondant or a fun rosette detail, as the cake was topped with a personalized black accent. For future couples, Irina shares a tip: “It's kind of hard to uphold, but this is your wedding, so make it something you will enjoy, but be prepared to be a little flexible. My suggestion is that you sit down with your mate and discuss what you are not willing to compromise on. Focus on what's going to make it special for you, and be prepared to compromise on everything else.”

While some couples use minimal decor at The Addison's 100-year-old Banyan tree-lined ceremony space, Irina and Richard added a fun twist. Purple uplighting was set against the trees. This complemented the couple's all-white decor as well as the purple floral accents along the aisle and their wedding arch accent.
Irina and her bridesmaids took advantage of the trend for mismatched dresses. Each woman paired her down hairstyle with a plum or cranberry floor-length dress of her choosing. One matching element among them was their bouquets. Dalsimer Atlas designed arrangements of white roses and green hydrangeas that popped against each dress.
With a fun slit and Swarovski crystals already accenting her wedding dress, Irina chose a few simpler accessories. She wore a pair of ivory peep-toe wedding shoes with a silver detail by Badgley Mischka, a curled updo hairstyle and a vintage crystal hair accessory under her veil.
The team at Red Carpet Boutique in New Jersey helped Irina find a classic white wedding dress with a low back and simple ruche detailing at the waist. The dress also had one fun twist. "It even had a high slit that you could see only if I swung it a certain way or put my leg out,” Irina says. To complement the look, Dalsimer Atlas designed a calla lily and orchid cascading bouquet for her.
While Irina and Richard had a colorful wedding filled with bright and metallic hues, the couple chose a more traditional invitation suite. Their 122 guests were sent a classic white note with black and gold font for the wedding. During the reception, the couple also included another tradition: a horah at the center of their dance floor.
Vintage-Style Hair Accessory and Veil
With the New Year just a few hours away, Irina and Richard wanted to capture every moment left of 2014. Each of their 122 guests was encouraged to snap some photos in their photo booth, try on a holiday-inspired hat or grab a noisemaker and join the party. "Our wedding was on New Years, and we really wanted to make it memorable for everyone," Irina says.
With a simple gold runner complementing the couple's metallic wedding colors, the team at Dalsimer Atlas made sure they filled the space with fun florals. Each centerpiece of floating pink orchids was met with an arrangement of white hydrangeas and more pink orchids sprouting from the top.

The team at Creative Cake Factory added an elegant yet dramatic touch to the couple's New Year's Eve celebration. Each layer of red velvet or almond white cake was covered in an eye-catching layer of silver or diamond white frosting. One tier was also covered with a fun rosette design that tied the look together. Irina and Richard then added a personal touch with their black topper.
After a night of fun noise makers, sampling a metallic four-tier wedding cake and snapping pictures in a photo booth, Irina and Richard started the New Year with a festive sparker exit. The couple were surrounded by 122 friends and family members as they shared a kiss under the glow of sparklers.
