A Garden-Inspired Pastel Wedding at Liberty House Restaurant & Events in Jersey City, New Jersey
Elke Pellicano (32 and a director of client services at Meredith Digital) and Stanley “Jay” Phillips IV (32 and an account executive at Dora’s Naturals) wanted a spring wedding with a gorgeous view of Manhattan for their wedding. It even rained during the ceremony so by time they got to cocktail hour, there was a full rainbow directly over the New York City skyline (swoon!). Elke and Jay used a pastel color palette of peach, blush and mint and added lush floral arrangement by Laura Clare Designs for their garden-inspired wedding. “The flowers were a big part of how the wedding came together,” Elke says. “Even though they were kept simple, Laura Clare and her team knew exactly what I wanted.” Elke and Jay also really loved Anne Bond’s whimsical watercolor-looking designs for her Rifle Paper Co and used the romantic, organic vibe throughout the decor. “I would say her prints inspired me throughout the whole process,” Elke says. “Especially the soft pastels she uses to the ranunculus flowers. I always went back to that.” Keeping with the fresh garden theme, the escort cards were small, terracotta-potted succulents that doubled as wedding favors. One of the best parts was the Jersey shore cover band, Chris Daniels and the Proof. “I’m a big Springsteen and shore music fan; however, they showed an array of music versatility and the dance floor was packed whether it was slow or high-paced music,” Jay says. “Highly recommend if you want a high-energy wedding band that can adapt to the pace of the guests.”
