Marissa Grey (30 and a creative talent director) and Alex Kaminsky (27 and an engineer) wanted their wedding to be classic and elegant with a touch of ethereal garden. One of the best parts was the stunning pink-bloom-covered branch chuppah gorgeously created by John Scaplen from Spruce Floral. “I wanted everyone to feel like they were in the Garden of Eden,” Marissa says. The arbor was also adorned with moss and rose petals at the base, and was completed with hanging terrariums filled with candles for a whole lot of added romance. Wanting their venue to fit their romantic theme, the couple chose the Ritz-Carlton Boston Common in Boston, Massachusetts, for its modern yet elegant ballroom overlooking the park. They used a blush, ivory and gold color palette to go with the venue's natural colors, and Lisa Rigby Photography beautifully captured all the details of the day. We loved Marissa’s Reem Acra bridal couture lace and tulle wedding dress. She wore her hair in a braided updo and kept her makeup simple for the classic wedding. “I told my fantastic makeup artist and hair stylist to make me look like I walked off the set of the movie 'Pride and Prejudice': natural, glowing and effortlessly put together,” she says. And don’t even get us started on the four-tier beige wedding cake with its ornate cascading white sugar rose. “The food at the Ritz is phenomenal and one of the reasons we decided to get married there,” Marissa says.

Marissa wanted the flowers to feel undone and natural. She went with an asymmetrical bouquet from Spruce Floral in blush, ivory and pops of silver. She completed the look with a purple gray ribbon bouquet wrap accented with a vintage silver and crystal brooch.
Marissa and Alex wanted the overall vibe of their wedding to be bohemian chic. “I wanted everyone to feel like they were in the Garden of Eden, which was reflected in our chuppah,” Marissa says. The wooden arbor was decorated with pink blossoms, moss and hanging terrariums for a stunning backdrop for their vows.

“Alex wore a custom-made tux from Brooklyn Tailor -- Ryan Gosling gets his suits made there,” Marissa says. She loved how well his tuxedo matched the formal, black-tie affair at the Ritz-Carlton. He completed his look with a simple white rose boutonniere to match the chic theme.
Alex proposed with a three-stone emerald-cut diamond engagement ring. They loved the statement piece and paired it with a classic silver wedding band. Alex also chose a silver band for himself to complement Marissa’s look. They loved how well the rings matched their personalities as well as the look at the wedding.

“We chose the Ritz Carlton Boston, which is blocks from the Emerson campus [where we originally met],” Marissa says. “The ballroom is modern, yet elegant and has gorgeous views of the park. We wanted to take the unpredictable element of weather out of the equation on our special day, which is why the hotel was perfect for us.”
The reception tables were decorated with patterned beige linens for an elegant look. They topped the tables with mercury-glass votives and small arrangements of blush and ivory roses for a romantic flair that filled the room.
“I wanted our wedding stationery to feel elegant and simple. I always had 'The Great Gatsby' in mind,” Marissa says. “We went with a simple black script with gold accents.” The table numbers perfectly complemented the chic, classic wedding look. They were paired with blush and green hydrangea and rose centerpieces to complete the look.
Marissa and Alex enjoyed a four-tier beige wedding cake decorated with a stunning cascading white sugar rose. Although the outside of the cake was very ornate, the inside was a classic white cake with berry filling. Marissa and Alex loved how the gorgeous cake matched their classic, elegant black-tie soiree.
