The natural foliage of the gardens at San Ysidro Ranch in Montecito, California, served as inspiration for this elegant, natural-colored wedding with a rustic twist. “I went to the ranch with my parents when they visited me in Los Angeles, and it was the most beautiful and magical place I’d ever been,” Christine Luksis (31 and an interior designer) says of her marriage to Jordan Winter (29 and a contractor). "There are beautiful gardens and a creek running through the property, and the driveway is lined with lavender and olive trees. It's just so beautiful and peaceful." Guests were welcomed to the occasion through simple black-and-white invitations that resembled the rest of the wedding-day stationery. The wedding party embodied the same color combination, with bridesmaids wearing black knee-length skirts with a matching top of their choice, while groomsmen matched the groom, who wore a classic black tuxedos and tie. As for Christine, she picked a classic ivory wedding dress with a sweetheart neckline that draped elegantly down in a floor-length skirt, blending in with the wedding's natural colors. The couple incorporated gold from their parents' wedding rings into their own, which were exchanged during the ceremony at the wedding arch covered in greenery. The outdoor reception followed, where long dining tables dressed in ivory tablecloths were decorated with natural flower arrangements, arranged with the help of Wink Weddings event planners. There was something about the three-tier buttercream wedding cake accented with leaves around the base of each layer that caught our attention—possibly the way it embodied the wedding day's simple, naturalistic elements. All the details were captured on camera by Amanda K Photography. "We both love the outdoors, so the fact that our whole day was outside was a great reflection of that," Christine says.

"Our invitations were simply black and white," Christine says. "I do a lot of graphic design, and after contemplating every style of invitation possible, I ended up designing something very classic."

Each of the bridesmaids wore a black skirt with a different top that they chose themselves. "Originally, we were trying to figure out one top for everyone to wear. With different body types and different skirt lengths, I decided it would be easier if everyone just picked their own black top," Christine says.
"For the ceremony, all we did was rent chairs," Christine says. "The ceremony was in the garden, and there was a whole field of rose bushes in bloom behind us, as well as two arches of flowers and greenery."

"Both of our parents had upgraded their wedding rings since being married, so Jordan used the gold from his dad's ring and I used the gold from my mom's for our wedding bands," Christine says.
The couple shared their first kiss underneath the wedding arch covered in greenery and accented in small white flowers. Christine's long, ivory cathedral-style veil draped behind her, which was attached to a vintage hair accessory. "I really loved my cathedral veil, and would urge any bride not to forget the veil," Christine says. "It's really the thing that makes you feel most like a bride."

Christine and Jordan stood in the middle of the wedding party, who were dressed in black attire. The bridesmaids wore knee-length skirts with their choice of black top, and groomsmen wore classic black tuxedos that matched the groom's attire.
At the outdoor reception surrounded by foliage, long dining tables dressed in white linens were decorated with neutral-colored centerpieces filled with flowers. Each setting had a Sprinkles cupcake wedding favor packaged inside a brown box. "My vision was to just have the most beautiful, elegant dinner party, so there was a lot of emphasis on table decor, ambiance and good food," Christine says.
Dining tables were decorated with ivory roses accented with greenery, with simple black and white menus at each setting. "I had designed the menus to sit on top of a folded napkin, tied with twine, a name tag and a lavender sprig," Christine says.
Classic Black Tuxedo and Bow Tie
The three-tier wedding cake covered in cream-cheese icing had leaves rimmed around the base of each layer, in addition to decorating the top. The cake was filled with lemon, banana and carrot-cake flavors.
