A Glam, Modern Wedding with Egyptian Flair at The Center in Cincinnati, Ohio
Striking centerpieces and a moody color scheme of purple and gray brought Lissa Amin (25 and a research associate) and Jay Ziegelgruber (26 and a financial analytics manager) black-tie wedding to life, while Egyptian-inspired accents served as a nod to Lissa’s heritage.
The couple chose to wed at St. Francis Xavier Church after falling in love with the building’s ornate architectural details. Striking purple floral arrangements lent a pop of color to the modern reception space, where guests dined on surf and turf and traditional Jordan almond favors.
Lissa’s champagne gown paired perfectly with Jay’s classic black tuxedo.
Lissa tied a traditional Egyptian hip scarf around her waist for a bit of belly dancing with her bridesmaids at the start of the reception. “The Jack Garrett band was amazing,” Lissa says of the 11-piece ensemble. During the set, the newlyweds shared a sentimental first dance to John Legend’s “All of Me.”
The gilded wedding cake was meant to mimic the look of an Egyptian pyramid.
