A Glam, Parisian Flower Shop-Inspired Wedding at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel in New York City, New York

Allison Klein (24 and founder of Rose & Rex Toy Store) and Jason Zigelbaum (26 and founder of Hopscotch.Global) planned a glamorous affair with Parisian appeal for their summer wedding in New York City. “Our theme came to life during our first meeting with David Beahm and his team when we talked about our connection to and love of Paris,” says Allison. “We mentioned that the flowers at the George V Hotel were our favorite and we used that as a jumping off point for our Parisian flower shop theme.”

The theme took on a modern twist for both the ceremony and reception. Ghost chairs and an ethereal fabric draped chuppah were punctuated with clusters of expertly crafter paper florals for the ceremony. With the help of David Beahm, Allison and Jason transformed the Mandarin Oriental Hotel ballroom into an oasis of vibrant color with ornate, one-of-a-kind arrangements of seasonal blooms for the reception. “Each centerpiece was different, which made each table look like a work of art,” says Allison. Silvery linens and white carpeting brought a clean, contemporary feel to the room, while details like colored glasses, floral dinnerware, floating candles and ghost chairs delivered an element of drama to the decor.

The food and entertainment were just as noteworthy, with the couple treating guests to inspired signature cocktails, decadent eats and lively performance by the Dexter Lake Club Band. “We really had the best team of people,” says Allison, “from our designer David Beahm to our planner Lauren Fishman and the Dexter Lake Club Band.” A tip for the taking from Allison: “Take thirty seconds in the middle of your ceremony to look out at the crowd and see all of the people who came to support you. Absorbing that love was really amazing. The whole night goes so fast, so take the time to enjoy every minute. Don’t stress about the details!”
