A Glamorous Ballroom Wedding at Biltmore Ballrooms in Atlanta, Georgia

A mutual friend brought Ashley and Lanre together, but their paths didn't cross again until four years later, when the same friend hosted a housewarming party. The couple were later married at Biltmore Ballrooms in Atlanta, Georgia. “The ballrooms at the Biltmore are stunning. I fell in love with the high ceilings and European architecture,” Ashley says. The architecture inspired the decor for the wedding, which drew from the bride’s “love of art, beautiful floral arrangements and modern design.” Ashley wore an ivory, strapless floor-length Vera Wang gown with tulle detailing on the bodice. It was the same design Chrissy Teigen wore for her wedding. Ashley paired the dress with ivory shoes with crystal pendants on the toe and a cathedral-length veil. Jewelry was kept simple with drop earrings. Bridesmaids wore black gowns from Bridals by Lori in different styles to let them express their personalities. Lanre wore a custom deep-blue tuxedo to stand out from his groomsmen, who wore black. The bride carried a dramatic cascading orchid, rose and hydrangea bouquet, and the groom wore a white orchid boutonniere. The ceremony featured incredible floral details, including a banister covered in blush and ivory flowers as well as an altar backdrop draped with satin fabric and a floral wall. Ivory, white, gold and blush were the main colors. Glass cylinders and tealights covered the reception tables for a romantic look. After the ceremony, the couple changed into traditional Yoruba attire to honor the groom’s heritage. The food and music also catered to both their African and American guests. Dinner was held in the Georgian Ballroom, while the rest of the reception was in the Imperial Ballroom. Ashley and Lanre cut a six-tier cake with champagne bands and sugar flowers. The DJ played songs to honor both the bride's and groom’s heritage. The couple danced their first song to “When I Saw You” by Mariah Carey. Ashley tossed the bouquet to her friends before she and Lanre left for their honeymoon. —Caroline Eubanks
