A Glamorous Ballroom Wedding at the Pierre in New York, New York
Christie Pasqua (26 and works in sales) and Joe Narvaez (38 and works in sales) met doing stand-up comedy in New York City. "We knew each other from being in the circuit, and after a few years, when the time was right, Joe asked me out on a date. We realized we had so much more in common than comedy and have been together ever since," Christie says. Two years later, Joe proposed in the restaurant where they had their first date. When it came time to plan their wedding, Christie really wanted to be a glamorous bride. "I wanted to feel sexy but also soft and bridal. I think my dress, along with my hair and makeup, accomplished that look," she says of her dramatic trumpet-style gown with a long ruffled train. With her personal style settled, the proud New Yorkers set out to find the perfect venue. "I really wanted to bring in sleek, modern elements into a classic New York City venue," Christine says. Enter The Pierre, an opulent historic hotel located just feet from Central Park. "Also, I am obsessed with pink," she says. "We started with whites and light pinks in the ceremony. Got a bit brighter in the cocktail hour and then bam—we transitioned to gorgeous, vibrant pinks for the reception." Advice from Chrisie: "Work with people you trust. When you do that, you just know it will be great. Take it all in." —Meghan Overdeep
