A Glamorous, Botanical-Inspired Wedding at Hacienda Yturria in Yturria, Texas
Samantha Wolfe (26 and a leasing manager and graphic designer) and Erick Ptacnik (28 and business owner and agent at Farmers Insurance) crafted their “nature meets glamour” nuptials around a refined palette of gray, white and gold. “My wedding dress was actually the first dress I pinned,” Samantha says. The trouble was the designer was based in Romania. After some digging, she found a store near Chicago that stocked her dream dress, so she and her mom booked a flight. “I tried it on, and it fit like a glove,” she recalls. A low chignon allowed the intricate lace detail of Samantha’s dress to shine. The couple incorporated a rosary lasso into the ceremony as a nod to Erick’s Mexican heritage. Samantha’s eight bridesmaids all wore the same dress, each in a different color. The resulting mix of neutrals, blush pink, sage green, charcoal and a touch of deep plum ended up inspiring the rest of the day’s color scheme. The couple traveled from the ceremony to the reception in a white 1935 DeSoto. Lace-patterned chargers added a feminine touch to the tablescapes. “Our cake was elegant on the outside and party on the inside,” Samantha says. Beneath the classic buttercream frosting and pretty pink blooms, the unassuming confection was filled with sprinkles. “Who doesn’t love sprinkles?” she adds.
