A Glamorous, Bright Mansion Wedding at Meadow Brook Hall in Rochester, Michigan

Katie Maclear (29) has an eye for color and patterns. Her job as a shoe designer for bright and vibrant Betsey Johnson allows her to go bold. And when it came to her wedding to Chris French (29 and an ICU nurse at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center), she went even bolder. Using her favorite pattern of black-and-white stripes as a basis for table linens, ribbon on bridesmaid bouquets and more, Katie and Chris were able to add texture to their wedding. In addition, vibrant coral, fuchsia, pink, yellow, orange and plum florals were used in bouquets, centerpieces and ceremony decor, adding depth to the striped details. "My favorite part of wedding planning was having an actual hand in the design process," Katie says. "I was able to put my personal touch on every aspect of the wedding, from the invitations that I designed and sourced myself to the table linens and flowers that I chose with the florist." —Allie Volpe
