A Glamorous Fall Wedding at The Barn at Mountain Park in Marietta, South Carolina

Melissa Kronthal (30 and a special education teacher) and Salsbury (30 and a director of partner strategy) hosted an elegant fall wedding at the barn, cabin and mountainside Glassy Chapel of The Cliffs. After the couple had a watercolor painting of their engagement photo made, they used it to inspire the invitation suite and day-of signage. The décor inside the stone chapel was kept to simple garlands of fresh greenery so the cliffside view could take center stage. “I wanted the feeling of A Midsummer Night’s Dream in autumn,” the bride says. Draped linens and hanging greenery in the barn evoked the Shakespearean vision the bride imagined (Melissa’s love of William Shakespeare comes from performing in her elementary school plays). Since guests stayed in nearby Greenville, the couple transported them by bus with a sweet surprise: “We played the movie Father of the Bride and provided flavored popcorn,” Melissa adds. Her two-piece gown included beaded floral embellishments, which she paired with a cathedral-length veil, and thoughtful “get cozy” scarves were offered to help guests combat the chilly November mountain air. Place settings at The Barn at Mountain Park included gold chargers and mismatched glassware to add a sense of whimsy. “I couldn’t have been any happier with the flowers,” Melissa says. “They were out-of-this-world stunning. It felt magical.” Plush gold velvet seating surrounded by a large hanging installation filled with greenery and purple flowers created an intimate area to sit back and enjoy the cozy soiree—or take time for a quick photo op. After dinner, guests enjoyed a coffee bar with toppings like homemade marshmallows.
