A Glamorous, Modern Garden Wedding at the Graylyn Estate in Winston-Salem, North Carolina
Naadia Bhatti (an attorney) and Jeff Luedeke (a senior vice president of sales and business development) planned a multicultural, old-Hollywood glam wedding with a focus on the lush grounds of their historic estate.
“We wanted our wedding to be an experience for our guests, and something our Pakistani guests, in particular, had not witnessed in the past,” Naadia says of their venue search. “With a beautiful backdrop and landscape, the Graylyn Estate did that for us.” The couple created a clean, classy look by decorating in shades of white with pops of gold to complement the romantic, old-world charm of the stone mansion.
“I wanted them to wear a combined Pakistani-American outfit,” Naadia says of her bridesmaids’ custom navy and gold ensembles.
Rounded floral arrangements of hydrangeas, white roses and orchids sat atop tall glass trumpet vases.
“In traditional Pakistani weddings, the bride and groom sit on a stage as the centerpiece of the reception,” Naadia says. “We took a more low-key approach to that idea with a sweetheart table under a beautiful canopy.” Naadia and Jeff also blended cultures with the food by serving entrees alongside both American and Pakistani sauces and naan.
Naadia’s custom gown took her designer four months to bead by hand.
