A Glamorous Outdoor Wedding at Fox Canyon Vineyards in Marsing, Idaho

Amber Carlson (31 and a teacher) and Justin Brown (32 and a software developer) had not been on many online dates before meeting each other. Although both were skeptical, they were encouraged by friends to carry on. “Justin was so cute in his online picture that I was nervous to meet him,” Amber says. The pair started dating and had their first daughter about a year later. On Christmas Day three years later, Justin popped the question with an Asscher diamond ring inside a wrapped gift box. Amber used trendy shades of gold, blush and ivory to carry out the feminine and timeless theme. The couple sought out an outdoor ceremony, despite a toasty time of year. “When I was looking at venues, I wanted the venue to be so beautiful that I didn't have to have any decorations," Amber says. "I really didn't want an arbor or anything like that. I just wanted a beautiful scenic backdrop.” Their venue was Fox Canyon Vineyards in Marsing, Idaho, near Boise, with wine barrels and small items as their only decorations. Amber wore a crystal-encrusted gown with a tulle skirt with minimal accessories, while her bridesmaids wore similar dresses of their own choosing in shades of blush or gold. The men wore gray slacks and vests with blush ties, but Justin wore a gold tie. Bouquets featured ivory with pops of blush and green, while Amber wore a crystal brooch attached to the handle for her something borrowed. Amber and Justin had their outdoor reception in the stunning outdoor scenery. They used centerpieces with the same blush and ivory flowers used in the bridal bouquet. She made gold and ivory table numbers. Tables featured ivory tablecloths, blush sequin runners and gold chargers. The couple danced their first song to “All of Me” by John Legend, while guests enjoyed Hawaiian-inspired food. When it comes to inspiring other couples, Amber and Justin had this to share: “We are still going strong because of communication and keeping passion in the relationship.” —Caroline Eubanks
