A Glamorous, Romantic Al Fresco Wedding at a Private Home in Atlanta, Georgia

Helen Shahrokhi (31 and a dental student) and Stephen Kaplan (28 and a CFO of Rumi’s Kitchen and a law student) tied the knot at the home of Helen’s aunt and uncle in an elegant, alfresco affair filled with pink and white peonies.

As a nod to Helen’s Persian heritage, the pair sealed the deal sitting down in a traditional wedding custom known as sofreh aghd, in which the couple’s sisters sprinkled the newlyweds with sugar. Afterward, guests danced to traditional Persian music before honoring Stephen’s Jewish background with the hora.

Helen and her mother teamed up to hand-sew all of the table runners themselves.
