A Glamorous, Rustic Winter Wedding at Peaceful Valley Ranch in Lyons, Colorado

Inspired by their New Year’s Eve wedding date, Shelby Smith (29 and an interior designer) and Wyatt Guddeck (30 and a sales representative) had a glamorous gold winter wedding. They chose Peaceful Valley Ranch in Lyons, Colorado, for their three-day weekend getaway. The original owner of the ranch was an older Austrian man who built a small one room traditional Austrian chapel up on a hill overlooking the valley in remembrance of his father. Shelby and Wyatt loved exchanging vows in the intimate wooden venue with the large windows overlooking the mountains. They decorated the aisle with pinecones, pine needles and snowflakes to match the winter wedding theme. Shelby wore a untraditional ivory and gold Oleg Cassini wedding dress with a peplum top and a white fur stole. The bridesmaids wore their own glamorous gold dresses and Wyatt wore a silver sheen Calvin Klein Suit with a Burberry plaid tie. Inspired by the classic Burberry pattern, they used it throughout the wedding to balance the rustic with the glam. Shelby and Wyatt used an ivory, taupe and gold color palette with all sort of sparkle throughout the decor. They also added plaid, pinecone and snowflake details to match the winter, New Year’s Eve vibe. The reception was decorated with lots of string lighting and candles for a romantic touch, and the tables were accented with mercury glass, hydrangeas and pine.
