Megan Jarvie (24 and a management consultant) and Bobby Paulk (26 and a medical device sales representative) planned a glamourous affair with a romantic secret garden theme for their fall wedding in Dallas, Texas. Soft shades of ivory, white, blush and gold set an ethereal tone for the evening, while lavish arrangements of full florals captured the essence of the soiree’s botanical theme. The pair were married in Prestonwood Baptist Church in Plano, Texas, where they grew up attending Mass, then joined their family and friends at Dallas Country Club in Dallas, Texas, for the reception. Skyward-reaching arrangements of hydrangeas, roses and stock and sparkling chandeliers infused the spacious ballroom with an element of botanical elegance, while flickering candlelight and blush linens grounded the decor in romantic territory. Megan and Bobby skipped the traditional sit-down dinner in favor of food stations to create a laid-back, social atmosphere that encouraged guests to mix and mingle. The band Emerald City churned out classic dance hits, keeping the dance floor packed, and late-night snacks (including honey-butter chicken biscuits from Whataburger and chocolate munchkins from Dunkin Donuts kept energy levels up and the party going strong. “There are really no adequate words to describe how talented Emerald City is,” Megan says. “We gave them a list of 15 songs we wanted to hear throughout the night, and they built a set list from there. We had a little bit of new pop stuff toward the end, but we had a heavy focus on the generational classics that everyone loves.” A tip from Megan: “Be yourself, and don’t lose sight of what’s important, which is that you are marrying the love of your life. It’s about the marriage, not the wedding. People easily lose sight of that. Our wedding was amazing and looked like a dream, but the best part was and will always be Bobby.” —Libby MacCarthy

Megan and Bobby kept the stationery classic, opting for a timeless, formal design featuring ivory card stock and whimsical script. Gold ink tied in the evening’s glamorous vibe.
Megan had 12 bridesmaids and seven honorary members of her bridal party. “I love all my friends and really couldn’t imagine the day without any of them,” Megan says. The bridesmaids wore floor-length Monique Lhuillier gowns in a soft pink hue, while the rest of the women donned gold and champagne dresses of their choosing. “My mom, sister, grandmother and I picked the dress together. We wanted something that was feminine and classic that was going to flatter every type of figure,” Megan says.
Megan took the traditional route when it came to her bouquet, working with Bella Flora to create a showstopping arrangement of all-white blooms. Roses and ranunculus offered the bouquet a romantic vibe, while cascades of white orchids brought the drama in a big way.
Playing off the secret garden theme, Megan and Bobby transformed Prestonwood Baptist Church into a botanical dream. Bundles of fresh ivory and blush roses trimmed with cascading vines adorned each aisle, while the altar was decorated with two lavish arrangements of ivory roses and hydrangeas.
With a guest list of 400, Megan and Bobby decided against assigned seating and allowed their guests to sit wherever they liked. The couple also skipped the traditional sit-down dinner, opting instead for food stations so guests could mix and mingle with ease.
Tall, opulent arrangements of hydrangeas, roses and stock and sparkling chandeliers infused the spacious ballroom at the Dallas Country Club with an element of botanical elegance, while flickering candlelight and blush linens grounded the decor in romantic territory.
Dallas Affaires concocted a striking four-and-a-half-foot confection for Megan and Bobby’s lavish nuptials. Taking inspiration from the lace on Megan’s Vera Wang gown, the cake artists decorated the top tiers of the cake with decorative piping details and lush, romantic florals.
When guests needed to rest their dancing feet, they headed to Susan and Solomon’s photo booth, where they struck a pose with a host of silly props. The printed photos featured the couple’s monogram in gold ink, offering guests a fun way to remember the occasion.
After Emerald City played the last song, the newlyweds bid adieu to their guests and made their way outside to a vintage car. Friends and family showered the couple in gold Flutter Fetti, putting a whimsical finish on the evening.
At the end of the night, Megan and Bobby made their exit from the Dallas Country Club in Dallas, Texas, in the back of a vintage car decorated with a garland of ivy and oversize roses.
