A Glamorous Southern Wedding at Quinney Oaks Plantation in Millen, Georgia

As soon as Amy Burke (24 and a phlebotomist) and Brandon Fields (24 and a nuclear engineer) started planning their spring affair at Quinney Oaks Plantation, they had a specific vision: formal southern elegance. "We love historic Savannah and found this beautiful plantation style home in little Millen, Georgia," says Amy. "Hidden within a pecan orchard, it had large oak trees, outdoor crystal chandeliers, Savannah style statues that lit up at night and perfectly manicured greenery." With the help of Brandon's grandmother—who personalized details throughout the day from hand-beading the bride's David's Bridal sheath gown to monograming linen's for the head table—the couple achieved a timeless garden ceremony followed by a regal terrace reception. After exchanging vows under a romantic pergola dripping with florals, the couple invited guests to celebrate during a soft blush, cream and silver celebration. A mixture of pink sequin table runners and blush sequin overlay linens accented the sophisticated tables. Cream and peach peonies, astilbe, roses and dusty miller arrangements in mint julep cups and silver candelabras created a romantic vibe. For a touch of bling, crystal chandeliers hung over many of the outdoor entrances, the regal wedding cake and the reception tables. The reception's focal point, the head table, was placed in front of a large oak tree with a hanging monogram adorned with flowers blending into the crawling ivy. “We kept our wedding small so we could have the time to actually spend time with everyone while eating, dancing and just celebrating,” says Amy.
