A Glamorous Wedding With Persian Traditions at Waldorf Astoria Orlando in Orlando, Florida

Sophie Pirzadeh (28 and in finance) always dreamed of having an abundant, sparkling fairy-tale wedding, especially after she met and got engaged to the love of her life, Ryan LaBarre (30 and a proprietor). Scouring Pinterest for months in search of the perfect inspiration, Sophia went with the palette she’d always wanted: blush and ivory with no shortage of bling. Sophia and Ryan chose the ballroom at the Waldorf Astoria Orlando as a stunning haven from Florida’s midsummer heat. Fiora Design Studio filled the ballroom from floor to ceiling (and everywhere in between) with spectacular blooms to fit the color scheme, using roses, orchids and over 10,000 hydrangeas. The florist also built a whimsical canopy of crystal-adorned branches to line the aisle and awe everyone in attendance. Since Sophia’s family is Persian, the couple incorporated some sweet Persian traditions. Sophie’s mother designed a table spread, called a “sofreh aghd,” with objects symbolic of Sophie and Ryan’s relationship and future life together. During the ceremony, the couple dipped their pinkies in honey and placed them in each other's mouths—a Persian tradition to signify the beginning of a new, sweet life. To continue with this sentimental theme, they offered jars of honey labeled “Love Is Sweet” as a party favor. —Maggie Seaver
