A Glamorous Winter Wedding at The Beekman in New York City, New York

Erica Volpe (28 and works in health care public relations) and Mike Compton (33 and works in investments) channeled The Beekman’s inherent old-world glamour to plan a winter wedding that was equal parts intimate and refined. “We couldn’t resist the opportunity to be the first couple to celebrate our wedding at such an iconic and unique space,” Erica says. “We must have visited the hotel five different times while it was still under construction.” After guests showered the newlyweds with confetti upon exiting the church, Erica swapped her off-the-shoulder gown for a white sequined party dress. “Everything about the venue is so quintessential New York City,” Erica says. “I wanted to make sure my look reflected that style as well.” Caterers from the hotel’s on-site restaurant, Fowler & Wells, prepared bite-size powdered doughnuts with caramel and chocolate dipping sauce for dessert. “The handheld doughnuts allowed guests to grab a quick bite and keep on dancing,” Erica says of their decision to forgo a traditional tiered cake.
