A Glamour-Inspired Wedding with an Industrial Twist at Firehouse 8 in San Francisco, California
Emily (28 and a clinical psychology student) and DJ (30 and a civil engineer) were both living in the same communal household while they were doctoral students. For their house chores, DJ was scheduled to clean the dishes on the same night Emily was cleaning the floors, and that’s when their flirtatious relationship began. A year and a half after they started to date, the couple hiked up a mountain in Northern California and stayed the night in a fire tower, previously used to spot forest fires in the area. Emily and DJ were enjoying the views of the surrounding landscape when all of a sudden DJ got down on one knee and revealed a custom-made diamond ring. The couple had their glamour-inspired wedding with an industrial twist at a historic firehouse called Firehouse 8, which the couple felt connected to since they got engaged in a fire tower. The color palette of gold, green, white and pewter decorated many wedding details, from the ivory napkins and dinnerware to the tall table centerpieces of green leaves surrounded by candles. At the end of the meal, there was a bride’s cake and a groom’s cake to choose from for dessert. Emily’s cake was filled with berries and lemon curd and DJ's cake was chocolate stout covered in bourbon cream cheese frosting.
