This small, rustic yet luxurious, ski-in-ski-out mountaintop resort was perfect for Suzi Molesta (32 and a nurse) and Kevin McInerney’s (31 and an entrepreneur) winter wedding. Knowing they wanted a very small family gathering and being avid skiers, they decided to turn their nuptials into a weekend ski trip for their 24 guests. “We fell in love with Trappers Cabin in Beaver Creek, Colorado, when we went to look at it,” Suzi says. “We loved that our families had to be a bit adventurous and arrive to the cabin by snow cat, and that we could have a beautiful ceremony on the outside deck. Waking up in a gorgeous cabin on top of the mountain, sitting next to the fireplace, spending time with the people we love the most and who will always be there for us as we embark on one of life's biggest journeys—it all came together and ended up being the best day of our lives.” Instead of using a traditional deep wintery palette, Suzi and Kevin had a more ethereal and light aura with shades of cream, peach, gray and gold. “I wasn't sure my vision would really work with the snow-covered surroundings, but I stuck with it and it did—thanks mostly to Caitlin, our unbelievable florist from Vintage Magnolia, and my good friend Lana from Lana's Shop, who did all our beautiful custom illustrations,” Suzi says. “Each of them could see my vision and they really helped make this a reality for me.” There are so many details we absolutely love—see them all, beautifully captured by Steve Stanton Photography, below.

Suzi’s father handmade a Michigan birch tree picture frame to put around a white and gold canvas print that repeated the word “love” in the shape of a heart. The decoration hung over the cake table along with peach and gold tassels for a whimsical look that we can’t help but love.
Suzi wore designer Catherine Deane’s Onyx gown for her winter nuptials. She loved the flowing tulle skirt and the white lace detailing on the back. She completed her look with a champagne satin belt and a wintery green and gold flower crown.
Suzi and Kevin’s nephew Quinn was the ring bearer for the winter wedding. He wore khaki pants with a gray sweater and carried a “Here Comes The Bride” sign down the aisle.
The flower girls wore sparkly gold dresses with a light tulle overlay on the skirt. They completed their look with rosette-patterned white sweaters since the winter wedding was outside. They carried small rose and lamb’s ear bouquets and wore flower crowns that matched the bride.
Musician Nick Steingart played music for the outdoor ceremony in Beaver Creek, Colorado. Wanting to incorporate their own personalities into the day, Suzi processed down the aisle to "Into the Mystic" by Van Morrison and the couple took their first steps together to "High Tide or Low Tide" by Bob Marley.
The reception tables were topped with white taper candles as well as tealight candles in gold mercury glass votives. The table was lined with an evergreen garland and small antlers for a rustic feel that fit the winter season.
Suzi’s mother and brother tied all the flatware together with a gold satin ribbon, an evergreen branch and a textured gold calligraphy place card. They loved how the look fit the winter wedding season and the gold palette.
Suzi’s mother decorated the simple two-tier white wedding cake with gold spray-painted artificial flowers. She completed the look with a gold buck and doe on top.
