A Laid-Back, Boho-Chic Wedding at The Holland Ranch in San Luis Obispo, California
Dreamcatchers, patterned textiles and an abundance of potted plants lent a decidedly bohemian vibe to Erin Lucas (32 and an interior designer) and Marshall Lake’s (31 and a wine professional) laid-back nuptials. “I’m an interior designer, so the design of our wedding was very much like the style of our home,” Erin says, sidestepping a set color palette in favor of harmonious textures and patterns. “We’re both relaxed, fun-loving people, so it was important for us to maintain a chill vibe.” At the ceremony, the couple exchanged vows under a six-foot dream catcher suspended from a wood arch. "I couldn't decide on a dress, so I wore two," Erin says of selecting a beaded sheath for the ceremony that she later swapped out for a fringed design. The bride's close friend and designer of the first gown, Victoria Kyriakides, even embroidered a lightning bolt on one sleeve to honor Erin's father, who plays bass for AC/DC. Dinner called for matching newlywed jackets designed by the bride. Tables were set with an eclectic mix of colored glassware, ceramic plates, copper shot glasses and fringed menu cards. Bakers at Paper Cake Events created an impressive dessert spread for the day that included plumberry galettes, pistachio and huckleberry macaroons, and salted caramel cheesecake.
