A Laid-Back Southern Wedding at Hermitage Farm in Goshen, Kentucky

Although Skye Fulkerson (27 and in marketing) and Trey Peckenpaugh (35 and in real estate) grew up in the same hometown, it wasn't until many years later at a Christmas party that the two crossed paths. Trey's younger brother had invited a group of people over to his parents' house for late-night cocktails and board games, and the instant connection between the pair was undeniable. The poppy red barn doors at the Hermitage Farm inspired the color scheme using pops of the same red, balanced by light pinks, pale oranges, whites and greenery. Every element in Skye and Trey’s big day was created to illuminate the love and importance of family. The ceremony was officiated by Trey's best friend of 32 years, and featured spoken words from Skye’s brother and Trey's sister. The cake was made by Skye's mother—“it's my 'celebration cake,' and to others, it's the best-damn hummingbird cake they've ever had,” Skye says. The couple provided a bourbon bar featuring 10 to 11 bottles of high-quality bourbons that Trey curated. Trey worked with his sister on tasting notes to guide guests throughout the experience. To wrap up the party, the duo handed out fried chicken from their favorite gas station/late-night food stop alongside bottles of Veuve Clicquot to guests as they were boarding the buses. —Juliette Cheatham
