A Laid-Back Wedding at Faithville Park in Spring Branch, Texas

Gabby Luftop (24 and a mechanical engineer) and Nick Prisco (23 and an account manager) said “I do” in a communion ceremony, then celebrated surrounded by family and friends with a laid-back Hill Country reception at Faithville Park in Spring Branch, Texas. “Nick and I wanted our wedding to be an intimate celebration of our union that incorporated thoughtful details without being too formal or stuffy,” Gabby says. “A close family friend owns the venue, so that was the perfect place for us to be joined together in marriage.” During their chapel ceremony, the couple were married by a close family friend, who had married Gabby’s parents in 1989, and the bride’s brother played the guitar and sang during the ceremony. “It was so special because he is an incredibly talented musician,” Gabby says. The bride walked down the aisle to “The Luckiest” by Ben Folds, and after saying “I do” the couple recessed to “Baby Blue Sedan” by Modest Mouse. Gabby and Nick brought their alfresco reception to life with a palette of ivory and gray, lush greenery, crisp white linens and silver decorative accents. They danced as husband and wife to “Hold On, We’re Going Home.” “Nick and I are obsessed with Drake,” Gabby says. “Plus, it's a sweet song, and I think it shows that we don't take ourselves too seriously.” Friends and family feasted on Texas barbecue and Mexican side dishes like beans, rice and a pico de gallo that Gabby's mother made. “It was a hit,” Gabby says. —Marissa Hermanson
