This outdoor wedding was so full of green, you’d never know it was in Arizona. Jessica Lincoln (22 and a pediatric nurse) and Josh Zehring (23 and a financial adviser) had their wedding in Phoenix, Arizona, at Venue at the Grove. “We wanted it to look like we weren’t in Arizona, with big trees, greenery, a brick patio with overhanging bistro lights, a barn and white picket fences,” Jessica says. She looked absolutely breathtaking in her fitted Monique Lhuillier ivory lace wedding dress with a sweetheart neckline and a chapel train. Josh looked dapper as well, in his gray suit with a blue shirt and tie, but with a special addition: He wore a watch engraved with “Time to Get Married.” The couple chose their pastel color palette by going to a hardware store and choosing their favorite paint-color swatches. The baby blue, peach and ivory flowers perfectly fit in with the natural surroundings. Everything flowed according to tradition, including the couple’s first look as Jessica walked down the aisle. The one surprise? “Since we aren’t big cake fans, we wanted to have the My Waffle Crush truck come and serve waffles,” Jessica says. This casual touch was a great reflection of the couple’s fun-loving nature, which was the goal of their wedding. “Josh and I really wanted our wedding to be down-to-earth and welcoming to our family and friends,” Jessica says. “We wanted for everyone to feel like they were a part of our story and truly see and understand the reason behind why we wanted to marry one another.” See the details, beautifully captured by Jessica Q Photography, below.

The couple chose their color palette by going to a hardware store and choosing their favorite paint color swatches. The baby blue, peach and ivory bouquets incorporated hydrangeas, roses, hypericum berries and seeded eucalyptus were tied with a lace wrap.
The bridesmaids wore mid-length peach dresses in their own style. "I gave each of them a paint swatch with the peach shades on it. All the shades ended up working together perfectly,” Jessica says.
The groom wore a light gray three-piece suit with a baby blue undershirt, a gray blue tie and a brown watch engraved with the words, “Time to Get Married.”
Jessica and Josh wanted to get married outdoors, so they chose Venue at the Grove in Phoenix, Arizona. “We wanted it to look like we weren’t in Arizona, with big trees, greenery, a brick patio with overhanging bistro lights, a barn and white picket fences,” Jessica says.
“Our ceremony really reflected how much we love each other,” Jessica says. The couple lit a unity candle and wrote and recited their own vows to one another. “Even with tears of joy in our eyes, it was such an amazing moment to express our love out loud, committing our lives in marriage to one another.”
The wedding arch matched the natural surroundings: Willow branches and baby’s breath gave it rustic garden flair.

Jessica had her wedding ring for years before she even met Josh. "I bought my wedding ring the summer before I started college," the bride says. rn"My family and I were on a cruise in the Caribbean and I fell in love with this ring. I wasn’t dating anyone at the time, but I knew I would regret it if I left without the ring. I bought it and gave it to my dad to keep for when my future husband came to ask for his blessing. And that’s exactly what happened; Josh went to my dad and got the ring four years after I purchased it.”

The couple chose to have a small cake for the traditional cake cutting and tasting. “Of course, the real purpose was to smash it into each other’s faces,” Jessica says.

Instead of serving cake, the couple had the My Waffle Crush food truck serve up their Berry and Nana waffles for guests to enjoy.
