A Luxe 1920s, Great Gatsby-Inspired Wedding at Midland Theatre in Kansas City, Missouri
Breanne Maples (29 and a business owner) and Ryan Ewing (29 and a business owner) met when they were 10 years old and both in the play “It’s a Wonderful Life” together. Ryan proposed on a boat with Breanne’s dream pink diamond engagement ring that they designed together (it took a year to complete!). The couple had a glamorous, Great Gatsby, 1920s-themed wedding with incredible luxe details throughout. Their ceremony was in the Kansas City Convention Center where they built a rotating stage so guests could have a 360-degree view of the whole event! They loved the white marble, black doors and gold accents throughout the room, too, which just helped bring the theme to life. Since one cocktail hour is never enough, Breanne and Ryan had two. Guests were welcomed before the ceremony with a red carpet, champagne and live jazz. After the ceremony, they passed hor d'oeuvres and had more champagne and wine. Instead of a traditional sit-down dinner, the couple had five different food stations with cocktails to match (such as breakfast with blushing mimosas, Southern comfort with dirty Arnold Palmers and kid’s choice with Shirley Temples). Since Breanne wasn’t big on flowers, she decided to use feathers and glitz with her black, white and red color palette. They also made sure to keep the party going with continued entertainment throughout the night including a live magician, a caricature artist and cigar girls.
