A Luxe, Romantic Wedding with Rustic Flair at the Escondido Golf & Lake Club in Horseshoe Bay, Texas

Green, gold and ivory hues accented Katie Gravley (31 and in sales and marketing) and Matthew (Matt) Price’s (30 and a finance manager) intimate celebration filled with personal, handmade touches.

“Once we saw Escondido we knew it was perfect,” Katie says. “It’s a beautiful mix of Texas Hill Country and Italy.”

Katie and Matthew tied the knot in a small ceremony in front of 50 of their closest friends and family. “I have been a bridesmaid nearly 15 times, so we chose to forgo the traditional wedding party,” Katie says. “We just wanted just the two of us sitting, surrounded by our nearest and dearest.”

Katie wore a dramatic cathedral-length veil pinned into her low chignon for the ceremony.

Since Katie “wanted as much greenery as flowers,” the couple’s florist covered long tables with cascading garlands of olive leaves and hung a giant wreath over the dance floor from the ceiling of the tent. “It was full of candles that made the space glow,” Katie adds of the atmosphere when the sun set.

The couple served their favorite foods throughout the wedding, from Blizzards instead of a traditional cake to chicken butter biscuits at the end of the night, in honor of their favorite Chick-fil-A treat. Katie designed a custom sticker with their last name for the special late-night snack.

Katie surprised Matthew (a huge NASCAR fan) with a racing-themed exit.
