A rooftop ceremony in Manhattan paired with DIY details, mason jars and whimsical colors created gave Krista and Del’s urban affair plenty of modern charm.

Vintage-inspired postcards were scattered across the guestbook table. Guests could write a note to the couple and pin their well wishes to a twine garland with a mini clothes pins.
Krista’s wedding band matched her platinum, cushion cut ring with a diamond halo. Del chose a black titanium band.
All-around views of Manhattan, the blank-canvas quality of the space and the indoor reception space made the Midtown Loft stand out in the couple’s search for a venue.
Thanks to the breathtaking views on the rooftop, the couple didn’t feel the need to add much decor.
Mason jars and milk bottles filled with pink, yellow and orange flowers ran down the reception tables on top of a striped navy-and-white table runner.
Krista had her mother’s veil shortened to match her bridal look. “It was really special to my mom to have my “something old” turned into “something new” on my wedding day,” she says.
Invitations with preppy stripes, whimsical details and a mason jar “were the perfect invitations to introduce the theme of our wedding to our guests,” Krista says.
The couple topped their cutting cake with a cupcake, which was the real star of the dessert course.
The bridesmaids carried bright bouquets of roses, garden roses, dahlias and protea.
After finding some DIY inspiration, Krista decide to make her own escort cards with a luggage-tag look.
Wooden chairs, hints of burlap and twine balls hanging over the dance floor gave the modern loft a rustic feel.
“We purchased a standard white cake for cake-cutting purposes, but our main dessert were the cupcakes,” Krista says. “They were a hit with all our guests.”
Krista chose her favorite elements from various dresses to create her dream gown: an A-line dress with a lace, corset bodice and sweetheart neckline and a textured organza skirt.
The groom and his attendants wore simple billy ball boutonnieres wrapped in twine.
The bridesmaids and groomsmen had a classic look in navy suits and coral dresses, but added fun elements like bright bouquets for the girls and Converse shoes for the guys.
The three bridesmaids wore tulle dresses in coral from J.Crew with strappy nude sandals. As a gift, Krista gave each girl a crystal necklace and gold bracelets.
