A Minimal, Graphic Wedding at the Pier B Resort in Duluth, Minnesota

Hannah Grune (27 and a coordinator) and Blake Erickson (27 and a grad student) found inspiration for their wedding in their lakeside hometown of Duluth. A motif of the Aerial Lift Bridge appeared throughout the wedding website and save-the-dates as a local touch, and during the ceremony, the couple used the stunning Lake Superior as the backdrop for their vows. Afterward, guests sipped gin from a local distillery and beers from nearby breweries, which were the hometown highlights of cocktail hour. At dinner, guests picked dishes from a vegetarian menu featuring truffle mac and cheese, wild mushroom ravioli and sautéed tofu. Guests then partied to a playlist of funk jams, LCD Soundsystem and pop hits, all picked by Blake. For the décor, the couple wanted to draw upon "the unique combination of industrial and natural,” Blake says. Geometric accents added a modern spin to the greenery-laiden space, while blush and white florals balanced out the look. Instead of a cake, Hannah and Blake opted for tortes, a favorite treat from the bride’s childhood, which Hannah and Blake showcased in a decadent wall display.
