A Minimal, Modern Wedding at the Greenhouse Loft in Chicago
Dylan Gordon (29 and a product manager) and Steven Henry (31 and an architect) opted to keep the details of their day simple, modern and chic, adding neutral wood accents and glass bottle bud vases to the Logan Square loft venue. An officiant wasn’t necessary since the couple wed in a civil ceremony at the Chicago courthouse the day before. Instead, the grooms’ fathers gave short speeches to the crowd before the couple swapped wood rings. Afterward, guests played lawn games during cocktail hour on the loft’s roof. “We didn’t need or want any of the formality or clichés,” Steven says. “The only traditions we kept were the first dance and mother-son dances—we couldn’t disappoint our moms.”
