A Modern Black and White Striped Wedding at Hotel Monaco Alexandria in Alexandria, Virginia
A posh black-and-white color scheme gave John Feather (63 and a CEO) and Steve Parsons’s (61 and a retired nonprofit professional) wedding a sophisticated and masculine feel.
The grooms said “I do” dressed in navy blue tuxedos, but swapped to black trousers and white dinner jackets with black-and-white-striped bow ties and matching pocket squares for cocktail hour.
Black urns brimming with ivory and green floral arrangements, black chiavari chairs and a custom black-and-white-striped aisle runner added a preppy touch to their courtyard nuptials.
The dinner menu saluted both grooms’ roots: John’s Texas food station featured barbecue and fixings, while Steve’s Maryland food station offered an array of fresh seafood. The men had their last dance to “Don’t Stop Believin’” by Journey. “That song will always have a very different and very special meaning for us,” John says.
