Kesi Chen (29 and a physician) and Michael Yang (28 and a physician) wanted a modern wedding that paid homage to their Chinese heritage. They chose red and gold for their color palette, since they are traditional Chinese wedding colors, with pops of deep purple (like the bridesmaid's J. Crew dresses). The Chinese symbol for happiness was used as a motif throughout the decor, from the wedding invitations to the cake topper, even projected on the wall during the reception. The couple exchanged vows in the planetarium, which provided a unique, stunning backdrop, with Earth and the stars projected behind them! The reception was held in Franklin Hall, where guests enjoyed Asian food stations in takeout containers with the breathtaking Ben Franklin marble statue as a backdrop.
