A Modern, Classic Wedding at Art Institute of Chicago in Chicago, Illinois
Brooke Duval (26 and a medical supply sales representative) and Steve Kipferl (28 and a physician) strongly believe that less is more, and let that belief guide the planning of their wedding. "My goal was to create a beautiful and timeless decor," Brooke says. The couple worked with a white, ivory, gray, with small hints of gold color palette, paired with simple white flower arrangements of hydrangeas, peonies, calla lilies, and orchids for the bouquets and centerpieces. Each bridesmaid's bouquet featured a single succulent, a nod to Brooke's California roots. Brooke wore a strapless Rosa Clara gown with a detachable train, allowing her an elegant walk down the aisle for their traditional ceremony at the Fourth Presbyterian Church, but also allowing her to remove the train so she could party the night away during the reception. Guests enjoyed a lively cocktail hour at Terzo Piano, the restaurant at the top of the modern wing of the Art Institute, before the reception in the Griffin Court.
