This theatrical couple love the grandeur of New York City. In fact, it was Katie Weidmaier’s (24 and an actor) favorite movie, "Breakfast at Tiffany’s," that inspired Ben Motter (26 and a technical director) to propose in front of the Tiffany & Co. store on Fifth Avenue. To keep their New York wedding classic, the couple decided on a timeless color palette of black and white, and as a nod to their love story, they added a Tiffany blue twist. When deciding where to get married, Katie and Ben searched for a venue that would highlight the city. “A majority of our guests had never been to New York City before, so we really wanted to show them all the glamour, lights and fun the city has to offer,” Katie says. The couple got married in St. Malachy’s Roman Catholic Church (the Actors’ Chapel), and walked across the street to their reception at Le Parker Meridien. “We chose Le Parker Meridien because when we walked in, it was everything we dreamed of and more.” The venue’s oversize windows provided a full view of Central Park, and the balcony allowed guests to step outside and see the New York skyscrapers the couple love. Katie’s bridal style was perfect for the glamorous occasion: Her custom Pnina Tornai wedding dress from Kleinfeld featured delicate floral appliques from the fitted bodice to the flowy, tiered skirt that matched her custom cathedral veil and crystal tiara. The couple hosted a lively penthouse party with live band Star Talent and with dramatic, theatrical lighting -- just their style. “My advice to future couples would be to try and relax during the planning process,” Katie says. “When the day comes, everything is going to fall into place.” See the details captured by Samantha Lauren Photographie!

Pnina Tornai Floral Applique Wedding Dress
Katie’s wedding dress from Kleinfeld definitely had a "wow" factor. She wore a one-of-a-kind Pnina Tornai wedding dress covered in delicate floral appliques from the fitted bodice to her flowy, tiered skirt. The floral appliques with her custom cathedral veil matched her elegant crystal tiara to complete her sophisticated, ethereal style.
The bride’s attendants wore short Jim Hjelm dresses in Tiffany blue. The bridesmaids wore black sashes, and the Maids of Honor wore white sashes. All carried simple bouquets of white roses.
Ben wore a classic black tuxedo with a bow tie, a white pocket square and a crisp, single white calla lily boutonniere. His timeless fashion was perfect for the glamour and formality of a Manhattan wedding.
“We began our venue search wanting something that offered both indoor and outdoor space and something that would highlight New York City,” the couple says. They had their ceremony at St. Malachy’s Roman Catholic Church (the Actors’ Chapel) and walked to Le Parker Meridien for their reception.

Penthouse Reception at Le Parker Meridien
In typical theatrical style, the couple amped up the party lighting for their penthouse reception at Le Parker Meridien. Crisp white calla lilies sprouted out of tall glass vases on the dining tables and swirled in round vases on the head table to create an elegant, modern vibe.

A Tiffany blue fondant bow with cascading ribbons added a graceful pop of color to this tall, elegant five-tier wedding cake. The modern white tiers alternated between quilted textures and detailed spirals with delicate flowers.
The couple’s whimsical white cake topper matched the crisp modern look of their wedding cake and reception. On the bride’s sweeping wedding dress train is a quote: “When I saw you I fell in love, and you smiled because you knew.”
Katie and Ben shared their first dance at Le Parker Meridien as the sun set over the New York City skyscrapers in the backdrop. Star Talent kicked up the party with live music and theatrical lighting, the couple’s favorite way to party.
“We chose Le Parker Meridien because when we walked in, it was everything we dreamed of and more.” The big windows provided a full view of Central Park, and the balcony allowed guests to see the New York skyscrapers the couple love.
