A Modern, Elegant Desert Wedding at Colony 29 in Palm Springs, California

Virginia Beazley and Daniel Sullivan's wedding had two overarching themes: travel and nature. "I fancy myself a 'plant lady,' and Daniel always makes it a priority to seek out the nearest botanical garden when we are traveling," Virginia says. "When we found Colony 29, we knew it was the place for us because of how amazingly beautiful it is." The nature theme was brought to life at the ceremony, where pillars of pink flowers stood out against the natural rocks, cacti and mountains. It continued into the reception with the elegant red, pink  and white centerpieces, which popped against the dining tables with black, white and gold accents. Virginia and Daniel's other wedding theme, travel, stemmed from the couple's airline backgrounds. They asked guests to "stow all their electronics" and enter into "airplane mode" during the ceremony and dinner. "Daniel was adamant that there would be no phones or distractions during the ceremony or dinner—something that scared most of our guests at first, but that I’d say they all thoroughly appreciated by the end of the night," Virginia says.
Our favorite #MakeTradition moment: "One of our mutual best friends, Justin Kuhn, got ordained so that he could officiate our wedding," the couple says, adding that they recited Buddhist-inspired vows at the ceremony.
