A Modern Fall Wedding at The Nines Hotel in Portland, Oregon
Lacey and Bo Lockhart planned a Portland-based wedding with a "wine country in the city" theme. "We wanted to highlight wine in a variety of ways, like our gorgeous wine-stained invitations and the rich merlot color of the wedding," Lacey says. "Our colors evolved into a luxe fall palette of navy, merlot and burnt orange with hints of red and lush greenery." Out-of-town guests were welcomed with tote bags of local artisan snacks, wine and paper goods, followed by a modern, simple indoor ceremony at The Nines Hotel, which had candles lining the aisle and a white draped background. "We wanted to keep our ceremony fairly simple and neutral since our reception was full of floral centerpieces," Lacey says. Calla lilies, ranunculus, roses, leaves and berries were prominent in the arrangements. The reception also featured harvest details like fresh fruits on the dining tables and fall-colored place settings. Other personalized accents included a bouquet wrap with photos of family members, a hand-painted fondant wedding cake and wine cork escort cards with calligraphy. Lacey and Bo ended the night with a traditional first dance in the hotel. The groom wore a midnight blue suit with black lapels and a calla lily boutonniere. Lacey stunned in form-fitting wedding dress with a beaded bodice, capped sleeves and a puddle train.
