A Modern Museum Wedding at the Art Gallery of Alberta in Edmonton, Alberta
Dylan Fry (28 and a safety industry professional) and James Mabey (32 and a real-estate broker) wanted a modern and simple wedding, so they chose the Art Gallery of Alberta in Edmonton, Alberta. "The natural light that streams into the main areas where we enjoyed our ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception really enhanced everything from the photos to people's good spirits," James says. The couple went with minimal, modern decor to emphasize the museum's amazing architecture. "We started with neutral tones, including white and navy blue, and then layered things tone on tone," James says. Wood tones and grains gave the decor a natural, modern feel and went with the simple white tulip flower arrangements selected for a fresh spring vibe. Succulent accents were used in the boutonnieres and bridesmaid bouquets and added a masculine, natural touch. "The instant comfort and familiarity among the guests was a real testament to the support and love we felt on our special day. Everyone was having a great time and we could not have asked for more," James says. Check out more photos by 1895 Photography, below.
