A Modern Orange Wedding With Rustic Twist at The Guild in Kansas City, Missouri

Since the event space at The Guild is big and open, Maggie Field (28 and a manager of training at Houlihan’s Restaurant Inc.) and Chance Moore (28 and a personal trainer) had a blank canvas to create their vision. “Choosing The Guild was almost a no-brainer—the space is absolutely gorgeous!” Maggie says. “The wood ceremony space, exposed brick, concrete floors, stunning chandelier and white subway tile fit perfectly with my rustic-modern vision for the day.” With the help of wedding planner Holly Davidson at Simple Elegance, Maggie and Chance paired their favorite color (orange) with rustic wood details and organic hues. Since orange is such a bright and bold color, they decided the best way to use it throughout the wedding would be in the flowers, which was the perfect choice! Raenelle Gardner from Floral Expressions by Raenelle create lush floral arrangements that added an eclectic and modern look into the details. One of our favorite parts was the ultra-personalization, which really showed up in the music when Maggie and Chance took their first steps as husband and wife to “Good Life” by Kanye West and T-Pain as well as the Dean Martin “Ain’t That A Kick In The Head” first dance! There are so many details we love! See them all, beautifully captured by Jessica Roark at epagaFOTO, below! Maggie advises future couples to choose vendors they “mesh well with.” “We thought if we surrounded ourselves with awesome people the day would turn out exactly as we wanted, and that’s exactly what happened!”
